With the Gods of Acting Chapter 153

Filming continued for another two hours.

The day was brilliantly bright, and the actors’ performances were fully warmed up.

For a director, wanting to film more in such ideal conditions was only natural greed.

Han Seongtae and the other actors also agreed with Britton Lee’s thoughts.

Because they too were aware that their acting condition was good right now.

That was why, when the director said “more,” they could also say “more.”

Han Seongtae, who had been stepping on the accelerator, spotted drones flying in the sky.

Drones filming the cars racing down the road from above.

Among them, five were filming Han Seongtae’s car.

Usually, drones filmed a broad view of the road, so he wondered if there was any reason to attach so many to one car.

Screeeech!

But the moment he saw Han Seongtae’s drift, that thought had no choice but to disappear completely.

He could move freely across the entire road.

Driving in reverse, corners, speeds over 200 kilometers per hour.

A single drone was far from enough to capture Han Seongtae’s car, which handled all of that freely and at will.

“This is so good! We’ll go one more time, just like that!”

Britton Lee did not stop Han Seongtae’s actions.

He could not help it.

No matter how dangerous it was, as dangerous as it was, the scene coming out was far too good.

There were three or four usable shots coming out from a single take.

What director could stop an actor’s actions in a situation like that?

“Han, everything is good, but you don’t need to push yourself too hard. Remember that there are stuntmen.”

That was all Britton Lee could say to Han Seongtae.

And the two of them knew all too well that Han Seongtae would not use a stunt double.

Until now, the number of times he had used a stunt double could be counted on one hand.

After he grew used to American roads, Han Seongtae’s double had only been standing by.

“Cut! That was so good. We’ll take a short break.”

At the words coming through the radio, Han Seongtae turned the car around.

The staff quickly approached and welcomed him as he got out of the car.

While checking whether anything was wrong with his body, they also checked the condition of the car.

Once they knew it was good enough to film the next scene right away, the staff immediately made a circle with both arms and sent the director an okay sign.

Han Seongtae watched that for a moment, then moved his steps toward where Jung Dusik was.

“You worked hard. This one was incredible too. Watching it on the monitor, I really ended up holding my breath.”

“I’m glad it came out well. Hyung, do you have a towel? I’m sweating too much.”

“Here. This is a towel I kept cold. If you put it around your neck, it’ll feel cool.”

“Thank you.”

Once he wrapped the cold towel Jung Dusik gave him around his neck, he could feel the heat of his body, heated from driving, gradually cooling down.

Han Seongtae wiped away his sweat with a dry towel and moved toward the monitor.

“Wow…”

“What kind of guy drives this well?”

“Is driving the only thing he’s good at? Look at his acting. He could eat a person alive with just his eyes.”

Admiration was coming from the mouths of the people gathered around the monitor.

Han Seongtae could easily tell that they were watching the scene he had just acted.

He was starting to grow used to their praise now.

“Han, how do you act that well? No matter how much I practice, I don’t improve.”

“It’s just… because I work hard.”

“Wow… do you know how annoying that sounded just now? I can’t even say anything because it’s true.”

At Ivy’s words, Han Seongtae could only smile awkwardly.

“What are you talking about?”

Rogers came over and spoke, and the three of them quickly let the conversation bloom.

How long had they been talking like that?

Murmur, murmur.

They could hear one part of the set growing noisy.

“What is it?”

“Looks like someone came.”

At the sound coming from a distance, Rogers and Ivy also turned their heads to look that way.

Han Seongtae was also looking at the crowd with them when, through the gap between people, two figures could be seen coming out.

A sturdy-looking man and a woman smaller than him.

Both of them were familiar to Han Seongtae too.

“It’s Dominic.”

“Letty is beside him too.”

Dominic and Letty.

Great actors who each occupied a place in Instinctive Rush.

They had come to the set of Rampage.

Dominic had said he would come next time, so that was not a big surprise, but he had not expected Letty to come with him too.

“They’re here.”

“Director, were those the guests?”

“Yes. What do you think? Surprised?”

At the director’s words, Han Seongtae immediately nodded.

The two people who had visited the set right now were practically objects of admiration for actors.

Their appearance created more than enough confusion and surprise for those who had received no information at all.

[‘The One Who Lives and Dies by Speed’ has his eyes shake greatly.]

Han Seongtae was not the only one surprised.

While the god of acting showed a strange reaction, Dominic approached Han Seongtae and spoke to him.

“Han, it’s been a while. Have you been well?”

“Yes, I’ve been well. Have you been well too, Dom?”

“I’m always the same. Ah, let me introduce my friend. This is Letty.”

“Hello. I’m Letty.”

She held out her hand toward Han Seongtae.

Han Seongtae did not hesitate and took that hand.

“Yes. Letty, it’s nice to meet you. It’s an honor to meet you. I watched all the works you appeared in and enjoyed them.”

“I’m glad you enjoyed my works. Which one was the most fun?”

“I liked all of them, but it would have to be Legend Evil. The action was so good. Ah. I also liked Holding the Trophy. I still keep the emotion I felt then with me.”

Han Seongtae saying he had enjoyed her works was not empty flattery.

He had watched all of the more than ten works Letty had filmed, and among them, he still clearly remembered the contents of five.

At Han Seongtae’s answer, Letty’s smile deepened.

“Even if I can understand Legend Evil, I didn’t expect you to know Holding the Trophy. That one didn’t even pass five hundred thousand in Korea.”

“That’s how impressive Letty’s acting was. I looked them all up.”

“Yes, I can tell that isn’t just flattery. I think I understand why Dom… likes you.”

Letty glanced back at Dominic, then let out a small laugh.

Under her gaze, Dominic stepped closer to Han Seongtae.

“Han, I heard there’s a driving scene today too. Can I look forward to it?”

[‘The One Who Lives and Dies by Speed’ confidently says he will show his best.]

The god answered Dominic’s words.

Seeing that message, Han Seongtae lifted the corner of his mouth.

“Yes, please look forward to it.”

At Han Seongtae’s answer, Dominic smiled as well.

Watching the two of them, Letty beside them said she was looking forward to it too and joined the conversation.

They were talking about acting and then sharing recent updates when, an unwelcome guest cut into their conversation.

“Dom, I get to see you here like this. And this is Letty beside you, right? Nice to meet you!”

Michael approached and spoke to Dominic and Letty.

The way he greeted the other actors while showing his back to Han Seongtae was quite blatant.

[‘The One Who Defined an Era’ shakes his head, saying it’s impressive that he keeps doing that.]

[‘The One With a Thousand Faces’ lets out a hollow laugh, saying he’s a person with thick nerves.]

Han Seongtae very much agreed with the gods’ words.

Michael’s blatant behavior had now become tiring even for Han Seongtae.

What exactly did he think he could gain by acting like that?

Looking at him only made him sigh.

“Yes, nice to meet you. But I was talking with Han.”

“Ah.”

At Dominic’s words, Michael’s eyes trembled slightly.

At Dominic’s action of pushing him away, Michael’s expression collapsed for a moment before he barely managed to restore it.

“Han, it would be nice if we drove together next time. I think there would be a lot I could learn from you.”

Dominic spoke to Han Seongtae, and—

“Han’s driving really is impressive. Who would have known someone like this would come out of a country whose name I’d never even heard of, Korea?”

At Michael’s voice, heard once again, the atmosphere grew heavy.

Han Seongtae could see Dominic’s eyebrow rise, then lower.

“He’s saying that kind of thing in front of Dom. There are still idiots like that around?”

Letty’s quiet mutter came from beside him.

Maybe Michael did not hear that, because he continued cutting Han Seongtae down.

“I think it would be better if you kept that mouth shut. What do you think?”

At Dominic’s words, Michael stiffened hard.

Han Seongtae watched the sight, his eyes shining.

When Michael heard that Dominic and Letty had come to the set, he immediately headed toward where they were.

The two were actors with very high recognition even in Hollywood.

If he caught their attention, his life as an actor would open up too.

‘Still, fellow Americans are better than an Asian.’

Michael thought that if the two of them were Americans like himself, they would naturally have no choice but to pay more attention to him than to Han Seongtae.

They were Americans too.

They would not want to see an Asian running wild in their own country.

But why…?

“Even if you act better than Han, that doesn’t mean you can behave so rudely.”

Why was he not choosing him but instead taking Han Seongtae’s side?

“I’m learning while watching Han’s acting too. I really don’t know how great you must think you are to act like that.”

At Dominic’s words, Michael could not say anything.

Because every time he opened his mouth, Dominic pointed out the problem with what he said.

“And I also don’t understand why the word Asian is coming up here. Where is race in acting, and where is nationality?”

“T-that’s…”

“If you are trapped in that kind of narrow-minded view, you’ll end up unable to do even the acting you are capable of.”

“…”

“Instead of spending time insulting others, let’s do your own acting properly first.”

Even after Dominic’s words ended, Michael could not easily open his mouth.

He could feel the gazes around him.

“What, did he just racially discriminate?”

“Wow… there are still people with that kind of mindset?”

They were whispering.

Dominic and Letty were staring at him, and Britton Lee and the other leads did not have good expressions either.

In the middle of all those gazes, Michael’s eyes met Han Seongtae’s.

Eyes that looked at him quietly without saying anything.

Han Seongtae looked steadily at Michael, then turned his head and looked at Dominic.

It gave the feeling that Han Seongtae held no emotion toward him at all.

That sight made the sense of defeat even stronger.

“Han, did you receive the invitation safely?”

“Yes, I received it and am keeping it carefully. It was my first time receiving an invitation through beer…”

Hearing the conversation between the two, Michael lowered his head deeply.

He had not been invited to Dominic’s party.

But Han Seongtae had received an invitation from Dominic.

All of those facts and that situation made Michael have no choice but to lower his head.
