With the Gods of Acting Chapter 148

T/N: He Comes -> He is Coming. Either way, both are bad titles haha

“This place is an incredible bargain right now.”

As Han Seongtae looked around the empty apartment, he heard the realtor speaking beside him.

The realtor was explaining with great enthusiasm just how good the place he was looking at was.

As he listened to her, Han Seongtae slowly looked over the apartment.

Two rooms and one bathroom.

A high floor on the seventeenth story, and a view that was not bad.

It did look decent, but…

[‘The One With a Thousand Faces’ points at the yellowed wallpaper and says the building is far too old.]

[‘The One Who Defined an Era’ says it would not be surprising if cockroaches came out of a place like this.]

[‘The Founder of Jeet Kune Do’ says the soundproofing is poor, so it doesn’t even seem like he could work out here.]

The building was too old, and even the gods of acting were reacting with dissatisfaction.

‘If I’m going through the trouble of moving, I don’t want to live somewhere like this.’

The fact that it would also be hard to get around properly without a car bothered him.

Han Seongtae turned right around and left the apartment.

“Could we look at another place?”

“Ah. You don’t like this one?”

At the realtor’s words, Han Seongtae immediately shook his head.

“It’s not that. I just want to look around at several places.”

At his answer, the realtor smacked her lips as though disappointed.

“Yes. Then let’s go look at another place. It’s about five minutes away by car.”

“If you send me the address, I’ll head there right away.”

“Yes. I’ll text it to you. Please contact me as soon as you arrive.”

At her words, Jung Dusik, who was beside him, nodded and said he understood.

After the realtor disappeared from view, Jung Dusik spoke to Han Seongtae.

“It’s only the first one, so don’t worry too much.”

“I’m not worried.”

What was there to worry about?

It was true that he wanted to move, but it was not so urgent that he had to move immediately.

Even if he failed to find a good place today, it would not matter at all.

It would just be a little disappointing, that was all.

[‘The One Who Defined an Era’ urges you to hurry up and get moving.]

[‘The Actor of Eternal Youth’ clenches his fist and says they need to find a proper home.]

There was no need to steel themselves that much.

Watching the gods’ reactions, Han Seongtae let out a laugh and followed Jung Dusik.

After the first place, they looked at five more.

Some were decently fine, and some were not very good.

There were many places, but…

‘None of them feel right.’

It was not easy to find a place that both Han Seongtae and the gods of acting liked.

At this point, he almost wondered if the standards they were using to judge a place were too high.

Even Han Seongtae, who had good stamina, was gradually getting tired.

“This is the last one. Once you go inside, you’ll be surprised.”

And so they arrived at the final place.

The realtor, with a confident expression, led Han Seongtae inside.

There were several pieces of furniture inside, as if someone was still living there.

Then, for the first time, Han Seongtae’s eyes lit up as he looked around.

‘This is really good.’

It had three rooms and as many as two bathrooms.

It was on the twenty-first floor, with a view impressive enough to draw admiration.

He also liked that there was a separate dressing room, and he liked the location too.

[‘The One With a Thousand Faces’ says that compared to the places they saw earlier, this one is considerably better.]

[‘The One Who Defined an Era’ nods and says it passes just for having a dressing room.]

[‘The Founder of Jeet Kune Do’ says that in a place like this, he could even bring in exercise equipment.]

Even the gods seemed pleased.

“Oh. Hey, this place is good. I think it’s the best one we’ve seen so far.”

Even Jung Dusik was impressed.

At their reactions, Han Seongtae also smiled and nodded.

In his view too, this place was very good.

“What did you say the price on this one was?”

“It’s a two-hundred-million-won deposit and twelve million won a month. Kind of like a semi-jeonse arrangement.”

“I’ll take this one.”

At the realtor’s words, Han Seongtae answered immediately.

If this had been before he met Ma Seokdong, he would have hesitated because the amount was too large.

But after meeting him and signing the contract, there was no longer any need to worry about money.

At Han Seongtae’s answer, the realtor’s smile lifted almost to her ears.

Once he decided to move, the house contract was completed quickly.

The previous tenant there, who had been paying monthly rent, also needed to move to another area, so the place had to be vacated quickly.

For Han Seongtae, that was a very good thing.

“Hey. This is your place?”

“Yeah. It’s my place.”

“This is insane. I think it’s better than my studio.”

At Kim Minseok’s words, Han Seongtae did not strongly deny it.

Because in his own opinion too, the place he had just signed for was better than Kim Minseok’s studio.

It was six pyeong larger than Kim Minseok’s twenty-six-pyeong studio.

The facilities were better, and the surrounding infrastructure was well developed too.

Considering that other places nearby were going for four or five hundred million won, he had gotten in at a good price.

“You got a great deal. And the view is insane. From now on, we should hang out here.”

“Sure.”

Who would stop their best friend from coming over?

Han Seongtae nodded and looked around the apartment.

For a while now, the gods of acting had been going on and on about furniture placement.

‘If I bring in new furniture too, it’ll really look good.’

Signing for the apartment had not been the end of it.

If he had to buy furniture and organize his belongings, he would be busy for quite a while yet.

‘Since I’m going back to America soon, I won’t be able to organize everything right away.’

Han Seongtae was thinking about his upcoming schedule when the phone in his pocket vibrated.

After checking the screen, Han Seongtae smiled brightly and answered the call right away.

—Seongtae, Seongtae. What are you doing right now?

“I’m looking around the house I’m moving into right now.”

—Moving? You’re moving?

“Yes. I already finished the contract too.”

—Then why didn’t you tell me that?

At Han Seongtae’s answer, Kim Mucheol’s voice sounded flustered.

He asked why Han Seongtae had not told him such big news as moving.

Kim Mucheol spoke in a hurt tone, and Han Seongtae immediately replied.

“Mucheol-hyung, I knew you’d been busy filming lately. I was going to invite you over as soon as everything was finished. If I don’t tell you, hyung, then who would I tell?”

—Well…… that’s true. Still, it would’ve been better if you’d told me. Did you bring in all your furniture too?

“No. I’m going to bring in the furniture slowly. Right now I was just looking at the structure of the place and thinking about what I should do.”

It had only been two days since he signed the contract.

He had not even looked through all the furniture options yet.

In the first place, he had been planning to bring in furniture only after coming back from filming in America.

There was not even a week left before he had to leave for America.

—Then should I buy you a bed?

“What? No. It’s okay. I’ve already received so much from you, hyung, so if I took that too, I’d feel bad.”

—No. The more you say that, the more I want to do it. Just give me the address. I’ll get you a bed, nice and proper.

“Still—”

—A senior is saying he wants to do something for his junior. Are you really going to refuse? If you refuse here, I’ll be genuinely hurt.

At Kim Mucheol’s words, Han Seongtae could no longer refuse.

How could he refuse when Kim Mucheol was even bringing up the whole senior-junior thing?

Han Seongtae should have refused then.

After he agreed to receive a bed from Kim Mucheol, his phone did not stop vibrating with messages from acquaintances saying they wanted to get him something too.

Looking at their messages, Han Seongtae could only sigh.

He had never intended for the news of his move to spread all over town.

It was true that he was grateful for their attention, but it was also true that it felt burdensome.

“Seongtae. You know you’ve got filming tomorrow, right? How about we just look around this much for today and head back?”

“Yes. I think that’d be best.”

At Jung Dusik’s question, Han Seongtae nodded immediately.

With messages from acquaintances already keeping his hands, ears, and mouth busy, he was in no position to examine the apartment in detail anyway.

And he also felt like he had already looked around enough.

“Let’s go back.”

“Okay.”

Han Seongtae left the apartment with Jung Dusik.

And in his hand, the phone kept vibrating and displaying one message after another.

—Ma Seokdong: Is there anything you need for the house? I’d like to give you a moving gift.

—Yeon Jaehun: I heard you’re moving. You don’t happen to need a dining table, do you? I know a furniture shop…….

—Jo Seokjeong: Seongtae, why didn’t you tell me you were moving? I heard Mucheol-hyung is buying you a bed, so I’ll get you a sofa. The living room is big, right?

Looking at the messages his acquaintances were sending, Han Seongtae unconsciously let out a soft laugh.

[‘The One Who Lives and Dies by Speed’ smiles and says they seem like good people.]

[‘The One Who Made Laughter from Tragedy’ says it seems you’ve found good colleagues.]

At the gods’ words, Han Seongtae could not help but nod.

Not simply because of the gifts.

He was grateful for the way they took interest in his life.

They were people far too good for someone like him.

The set of He is Coming.

With not much left until the final shoot, the place was crowded with people.

Staff moved around carrying props.

Actors practiced with their scripts in hand, and in front of them the director and assistant directors discussed how they would shoot the scene.

Watching all of that, Han Seongtae walked over to where Choi Yechan was.

“Oh. Seongtae-ssi, you came?”

“Yes. Hello, Director.”

Choi Yechan greeted Han Seongtae warmly.

Han Seongtae was appearing as a cameo.

People who had heard the news were glancing over at him.

He felt their stares, but Han Seongtae continued speaking calmly.

“Please take care of me on the shoot today.”

“I should be the one saying that. Seongtae-ssi, let’s do our best today!”

“Yes. Let’s do our best.”

At that, Han Seongtae nodded immediately.

“Actor Han Seongtae-nim, please come with us for makeup.”

He moved off with the people who had come to take him to makeup.

“The makeup today is a difficult one, so it’s going to take a while. You heard in advance, right?”

“Yes.”

He had heard through Jung Dusik that the makeup would take a long time.

And he had already known it would take a while in the first place, since he had received the character sheet.

If it ran late, it would probably take three hours.

That thought vanished once three hours had passed.

“We’re done.”

“You worked hard sitting through the makeup.”

“It’s the teachers here who worked harder than I did.”

The makeup on Han Seongtae alone had taken five hours.

He only had to sit still, but the makeup team had to keep moving the whole time.

Everyone had worked hard.

At Han Seongtae’s words, they smiled with proud faces.

[‘The One Who Defined an Era’ quietly admires how completely your image has changed.]

[‘The One With a Thousand Faces’ says the makeup team is very skilled, his eyes shining.]

The makeup that even the gods admired was full-body tattoo makeup.

Fitting for a tattooist, from his legs all the way to his face,

there was not a single part of his body left unpainted.

“Wow…… this really has a vibe.”

“This is insane.”

“Getting all that off will be a whole job too.”

Seeing Han Seongtae’s appearance, people let out hollow laughs.

That was how completely different his makeup and aura were from before he transformed.

“All right. Then let’s start filming.”

At Choi Yechan’s words, Han Seongtae stepped up onto the set and his acting began.
