Top Star Sent by God Chapter 14

“That place is really expensive, you know? But when they heard that our Seonghyeon oppa was playing the role of a chaebol, they practically begged to sponsor him first.”

“They even made custom outfits just for him! And not just one—I’ve lost count of how many already.”

His hairstyle, which used to grow freely like a wild spirit, was now neatly slicked back with wax, as if every stray strand had been tamed.

But that wasn’t all.

As Kwon Seonghyeon strode forward with a straight posture, his aura was sharp enough to make people hesitate before speaking to him.

If someone saw him outside, they would undoubtedly mistake him for the heir of a wealthy conglomerate family.

However—

“Did you wait long? Sorry. I tried to leave the salon on time, but the traffic was bad…”

“Oh, come on. Yeonwoo! Why are you carrying something so heavy? Did Kyuhan hyung make you carry this?”

“No, that’s not it.”

“Hyung. I told you to let Yeonwoo wait in the van. Why did you make him carry coffee? Yeonwoo, did Kyuhan hyung drag you out on purpose? Did he make you carry this?”

He approached with an air of charisma, but what he actually said was completely different.

He’s the same inside as always.

What’s the use of looking like a cold-hearted chaebol heir on the outside if, inside, he’s still a big dog loyally circling his owner?

The manager jumped in protest.

“Hey! No way! Why would I drag Yeonwoo out on purpose?! I didn’t make him carry the coffee either!”

But Kwon Seonghyeon ignored him completely and continued speaking.

“You’re not trying to throw your weight around just because you’re a manager now, are you, hyung? That would make me really sad.”

“Give me the coffee. How could you carry something this heavy? And Yeonwoo, if Kyuhan hyung ever bullies you, you can tell Dongja.”

“What? I didn’t even do anything!”

He was smiling, but somehow, his smile carried an undeniable force.

“I volunteered to come along. The manager looked like he was struggling, and I was curious about the broadcasting station, so I wanted to see it early.”

“Oh… Is that so? Yeonwoo, you’re so kind. But still, give me the coffee.”

The manager shot Yeonwoo a grateful look.

For some reason, it almost felt like he was looking at a savior.

“It’s fine. It would look strange if the actor was carrying things while the manager walked around empty-handed.”

“Does it really matter who carries it? Anyway, were you curious about the broadcasting station? You should have said something earlier. We could have come sooner. Do you want to take a look around now? There’s actually a lot to see.”

“Uh, Seonghyeon? The meeting is about to start…”

“It’s fine if we’re a little late, right? I’m sure the director and writer will understand. I’ll just take a quick look around with Yeonwoo.”

The manager turned to Yeonwoo.

“Please stop this guy!”

His eyes were desperate, almost pleading.

“Kwon Seonghyeon.”

“Yes?”

“Let’s go to the meeting.”

“Aren’t we going to look around?”

“People should be responsible. Breaking a scheduled appointment is something only amateurs do.”

“Oh, you’re right. Responsibility. That makes sense.”

Kwon Seonghyeon nodded lightly, as if he understood.

“Just like how Yeonwoo is helping me and taking responsibility for me, right?”

“Well, yes.”

He wasn’t wrong.

“Then let’s go to the meeting. Yeonwoo, I’ll make sure you get a tour later.”

Perhaps afraid he’d change his mind, the manager quickly led them inside.

When they entered the meeting room, most of the seats were already filled.

One by one, people stood up to greet Kwon Seonghyeon.

“Seonghyeon! It’s been a while! You’re looking sharp today!”

“Director Heo. How have you been?”

“I’ve been good. This is our lead writer, Min Suji. She was absolutely determined to have you as the male lead.”

“Director, don’t say weird things. Seonghyeon, nice to meet you. I’m Min Suji. Looking forward to working with you.”

“Likewise, Writer Min.”

As Kwon Seonghyeon greeted the director, writer, and fellow actors, Yeonwoo followed the manager and handed out coffee to the staff.

“Oh wow, you even brought coffee?”

“The café near here is terrible, but you went out of your way to buy from a high-end brand. Nice touch, Seonghyeon!”

People praised him endlessly as they recognized the famous coffee brand.

Just as Yeonwoo was about to hand a cup to Min Suji, she suddenly asked:

“Are you a rookie?”

“…?”

“Are you signed under Kwon Seonghyeon’s agency? Your face is unfamiliar, so you must be new. Are you an actor? An idol?”

“Excuse me?”

“I noticed you the moment you walked in. So, which one is it? Or are you a model?”

A deep fatigue was evident in Min Suji’s eyes as she questioned Yeonwoo.

“None of the above.”

“Then?”

“I recently started working as Kwon Seonghyeon’s assistant manager.”

“A manager?”

Her dark-circled eyes widened.

“Has your agency lost its mind?”

“…?”

“Why would they make someone like you a manager? Oh… You said you just started? Then they probably assigned you here to get a feel for the industry.”

She muttered to herself, nodding as if she had figured something out.

“You should’ve auditioned instead. What a waste… You’d fit the part much better.”

“…?”

Now that he thought about it, Min Suji was considered a top-tier writer in the industry.

Some even called her a genius when it came to romantic comedies.

Kwon Seonghyeon is one thing, but are all geniuses a little odd?

It was surprisingly convincing.

“Being on time is a skill too, so I suppose there’s no helping it. Anyway, thanks for the coffee.”

She took the cup from Yeonwoo’s hands and turned away.

Behind her, a tiny pair of hands clung to her skirt.

[Oh? That’s…?]

“Shh. I know. Be quiet.”

Yeonwoo had already noticed the moment Min Suji approached.

A small, adorable child, barely tall enough to reach her waist, was clutching her skirt.

[Is that the source of the negative energy? It looks pretty strong, given how distinct it is.]

Dongjaryeong stirred inside Yeonwoo’s pocket.

“No, it’s not that child.”

[No?]

“Also, would you stop clinging to that animal form?”

[I need a body if I want to talk to the actors!]

“Yeah, and because you’re stuck in that animal form, you can’t even see the obvious.”

[What is it? What’s in here?]

Luckily, the meeting room was lively, filled with people exchanging greetings and coffee.

No one paid attention as Yeonwoo whispered.

“This place is a gold mine.”

His eyes scanned the room.

At a glance, it looked like a normal, bustling production meeting.

But what Yeonwoo saw was different.

I understand why the negative energy was so strong.

This place was overflowing with dark emotions.

Negative energy—simply put, it’s a materialized form of negative emotions and desires.

Like lingering grudges, it gains power and can even act on its own.

In short, it was a living curse.

[How many are there?!]

“A lot. Almost everyone here has at least one attached to them.”

Even Min Suji had one.

[But I can’t see them!]

“That’s what you get for hiding in an animal body.”

This broadcasting station was teeming with greed and ambition—a true harvest field of free lifespans.

I was right to come here.

Yeonwoo’s lips curled into a smirk.

It’s harvest season.
